The role

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patient inquiries and concerns.

  • Communicate with healthcare providers, specialists, and facilities regarding patient care needs.

  • Monitor and track patient care plans and appointment compliance.

  • Maintain accurate documentation within EHR/EMR systems.

  • Assist with insurance verification, authorizations, and referral coordination when needed.

  • Support administrative and care coordination activities to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN or equivalent).

  • Licensed Nurse

Required Experience

  • Experience as a Patient Care Coordinator, Healthcare Virtual Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Medical Scheduler, or in a healthcare support role.

  • Experience coordinating patient care, appointments, referrals, and follow-up services.

  • Experience communicating with patients, providers, and healthcare facilities.

  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

  • Strong patient communication and customer service skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-ups efficiently.

  • Medical, nursing, healthcare administration, or allied health educational background.

  • Experience supporting US-based healthcare providers, clinics, or hospitals.

  • Knowledge of US healthcare processes, insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations.

  • Experience with patient intake, care planning, and case coordination.
